Alex Wood started practicing Acupuncture in 2001 at Natural Health Service in Killay and then at the Village Surgery alongside Dr. Alain Jones in 2004. Alex then set up Swansea Acupuncture Project (SAP); a unique multi bed clinic offering acupuncture to adults with long term mental health difficulties. The Clinic was hosted by Caerlas Housing Association at the Connect Project. SAP also provided acupuncture to the general public with a sliding cost enabling all members of the community to experience and benefit from Chinese medicine.
Alex trained in Acupuncture at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2001. Alex studied under some of the most respected teachers & authors in the field of Chinese medicine including Giovanni Maccioca, John & Angela Hicks and Peter Mole. Since then he has continued to extend his understanding of Acupuncture through ongoing professional supervision and regularly attending specialist graduate courses.
Alex continues to work alongside Connect but now bases the main part of his time at the Natural Health Service on Page Street, Swansea. He also runs a weekly clinic in Bishopston.
