Why Acupuncture?

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is an amazing resource for for helping improve fertility. Treatment will help any imbalances that may be present within the body and reduces the anxiety that builds up when nature does not behave as it should.

Can Acupuncture help Fertility?

Yes- for both men and women,.
Different acupuncture points help focus activity in different parts of the body and can reduce or increase body temperature: this is particularly important in fertility treatments as monthly hormones and temperature changes in the uterus are often the key to helping improving fertility. In Chinese medicine we refer to this as balancing yin /yang.

Other points can be used to improve blood flow and circulation through the area.

Treatment also has a relaxing effect- which helps reduce our internal levels of cortisol (a chemical messenger that increases when we are stressed, raising blood pressure etc)

Can Acupuncture be used alongside assisted fertility treatments such as IVF or IUI?

Yes-Acupuncture will increase the likelihood of a positive outcome of your IVF or IUI treatment and there is plenty of clinical evidence that supports this. Some research documents suggest a significant positive increase from around 21-22% to 39% or even higher at 52%. More research is needed.

However what is clear is that Acupuncture significantly increases the statical outcomes during assisted fertility treatment. Many leading Fertility Clinics now use acupuncture treatment alongside medical intervention.
